My field of interest is the analysis of the Polish language within the framework of Computer Mediated Communication.
I am mainly interested in the language of real-time communication, namely IRC, website chat rooms and instant messengers like ICQ.
For technical reasons (mainly because of a relatively easy access to text corpus) my main field on analysis is IRC.

Furthermore, one has to remember that the language used in the mentioned services can be varied.
The skill of computer knowledge is different when it comes to IRC, or when it comes to the website chat rooms.
Therefore the kind of people who use the respective services can be systematically different.
IRC requires a greater knowledge on behalf of its user. One needs to install separate software, find an appriopriate IRC server, etc.
It is a requirement which could deter people whose computer or internet skills are smaller.
